At the edge of light and shadow, two mountaineers make their way along a glacier in Gran Paradiso National Park, Italy.
Italy. Gran Paradiso National Park is nestled between the Aosta Valley and the Piedmont. Gran Paradiso at 4061m high is Italy's highest mountain and is the only mountain higher than 4000m which lies entirely in Italian territory. Early morning light strikes the snow ridge as climbers ascend between the Gran Paradiso and Laveciau Glaciers.
